Aviation Helicopters
First theorized in the mid 1500's, by Leonardo Da Vinci, a helicopter has been called an assembly of forty thousand loose pieces, flying more or less in formation.
Rotary wing aircraft are initially challenging to learn to fly. To achieve a Private Pilot Helicopter License (PPL/H) you will need to complete an FAA Written Test, an FAA Flight Test, and an FAA Oral Test. To prepare for these tests, you will need to receive ground and flight instruction, learn aerodynamics, how to communicate with Air Traffic Control. Additionally, you will learn how to climb, descend, turn, and fly level, and learn to hover. Hovering is one of the most challenging aspects of learning how to fly a helicopter.
The websites in this category can guide you in becoming a Helicopter Pilot.
