Seeking licensing in the medical industry requires an incredible amount of education
and a series of exams issued at the state level by the Medical Board of Examiners of that
state. These state medical boards come together through national organizations such
the American Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and the National Board of Medical Examiners
(NBME). Both the FSMB and NBME provide exams needed to become medical professionals.
Since the practice of medicine involves the safety and care of individuals, the mission of
state medical boards is to act as a filter, allowing only qualified medical students who have
gained a vast knowledge of medical practice to enter the medical profession.
Medical students who want to become doctors must take a three-step test called the United States
Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). The process is stretched out over several months.
There are many different fields of medicine and licensure is required for each of them through
the board that oversees that type of medical practice. If you are a medical doctor seeking continuing education
or looking to advance in your field of practice, GYL is here to assist you. There are many professional online
options as well as traditional classroom instruction opportunities we can assist you with.
We sincerely look forward to assisting you. Health care in America is a very important issue for GYL.
