Locksmiths are certified through a non-profit international trade organization
called Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA). They grant several levels
of locksmith certification. Entry level is Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL)
followed by Certified Professional Locksmith (CPL). The most advanced level is
Certified Master Locksmith (CML). The ALOA offers a Proficiency Registration
Program that encompasses education and examination. The program offers over thirty
categories of Locksmith skills. The ten categories that are required for certification
